Shop for a Cause at the H.E.A.R.T. Market

Someone sent me this info via email and they want it to be posted here:

The H.E.A.R.T. (Handicrafters, Entrepreneurs, Artists, and Retail Talents) market is a socially-conscious bazaar held on the 2nd weekend of every month at Sculpture Square, Middle Road.

imageIts missions are two-fold: (1) to be an effective avenue for handicrafters, artists, and young retail talents to showcase their designs and products and (2) to serve as an effective publicity and fundraising platform for charities and welfare societies.

Every month, the organizers from Calamine Solutions will feature a charity organization, and allocate about 15% of its stalls to that charity free-of-charge.

For those who love to shop for a cause, the H.E.A.R.T. market is the place to visit for every second weekend of the month. The items purchased by you will either encourage young entrepreneurs in their budding entrepreneurship career, or support the funding of the featured charities.

This April, the H.E.A.R.T. market will be featuring Very Special Arts (VSA) Singapore

vsa and fds

Friends of the Disabled Society (FDS), charitable organizations which seek to provide individuals with disabilities with the opportunities to access the arts for the purposes of rehabilitation and social integration.

To achieve this, VSA Singapore and FDS promotes the educational, social, rehabilitative and therapeutic benefits of visual and performing arts for people with disabilities; integrates these individuals into mainstream society through the arts and whenever possible, helps them obtain financial assistance and independence through arts and arts-creation. Via the H.E.A.R.T. market, VSA and FDS will be inviting artists with disabilities to showcase and sell their handicrafts and paintings.
